The Akron-Medina Veterinary Hospital has complete surgical facilities staffed by dedicated professionals using up-to-date equipment. We provide a variety of surgical options. General Surgery

When surgery is necessary, we take many precautions to make every surgery as safe as can be. Prior to anesthesia, all of our surgery patients have bloodwork run to check for any underlying diseases that could complicate anesthesia. All patients are hooked up to monitors that keep track of their vital signs (heart rate and rhythm, breathing rate, and oxygenation), and a technician is monitoring both your pet and the equipment to ensure safety throughout the procedure.

Laser Surgery

Using a non-contact mode that leaves no bruising, crushing or tearing after an incision, laser surgery is ideal for procedures such as removing tumors, eye surgeries, ear procedures and other soft tissue applications. The benefits include reduced blood loss, swelling and discomfort during and after surgery.

Surgical Intensive Care

We have special surgical intensive care facilities for post-operative evaluation and recovery with close monitoring by our trained staff.
